Welcome to the Together End Racism in Toronto (TERT) project, where we’re on a mission to build a stronger, more inclusive community. 60 passionate young leaders from racialized, Black, Indigenous, and LGBTQ2S communities coming together. Their goal? To engage over 1800 individuals across Toronto in the fight against racism and oppression.
So, what exactly are we up to? Our project is all about empowerment through education and action. We’re diving deep into anti-oppression and anti-racist theatrical frameworks to spark meaningful change in attitudes and beliefs. These aren’t your average workshops – we’re talking about hands-on training in community organizing, group facilitation, advocacy, and more. Our team of Community Animators will be at the forefront, organizing arts and cultural events, town hall meetings, and impactful social actions aimed at confronting racism head-on.
But it doesn’t stop there. We’re harnessing the power of social media and forging partnerships with both ethnic and mainstream media outlets to amplify our message. Together, we’ll raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and mobilize communities like never before.
Why is this project so crucial? Because racism isn’t just a problem – it’s a barrier. It’s time to tear down those barriers and build a society where everyone feels valued and heard. By listening to the voices of our community and advocating for policy change, we’re paving the way for a brighter, more equitable future.
But don’t just take our word for it. Let the numbers speak for themselves. With 60 trained Community Animators leading the charge, we’re poised to educate and mobilize 1800 individuals across Toronto. That’s 1800 minds opened, 1800 hearts inspired, and 1800 voices united against racism.
And the benefits don’t end there. From counseling services for victims of racism to opportunities for youth engagement and involvement, our project is making a real difference in people’s lives. Together, we’re creating spaces for positive interactions between different cultural, religious, and ethnic communities – because when we come together, anything is possible.
So, are you ready to join the movement? Together, let’s end racism in Toronto – once and for all.
